About me

I have more than 35 years in nursing & provide an extensive variety of practical clinical experience and knowledge which has been gained via a number of postgraduate studies in mental health, primary health care and private practice.
I am a current credentialed mental health nurse registered with the Australian College of MHN as well as with the ACNP
I believe that clinical supervision and support is a truly valuable tool to assist nurses in the development and maintenance of their careers.

My experience

I have worked a variety of settings during my nursing career and have experienced most areas within mental health settings.
Having worked at all levels in nursing during my career, starting as an Enrolled nurse working in psycho geriatric nursing, progressing to today working in regional area in the early intervention & capacity building team as a Nurse practitioner.
During my career I have had the opportunity to provide leadership in many senior roles in a variety of settings and the ability to provide education to students at all levels of training.

I have worked in private practice with the PHN delivering psychiatric care to consumers that require continued mental health support and also in an afterhours emergency clinic working with a number of GP's providing primary health care to patients on a daily basis.

My current role/work

Up until the October I have been in a leadership role as a Team leader with RMH / NWAMHS delivering recovery & rehabilitation service as well as liaison for the secure extended care unit. I was providing supervision to a number of nursing staff on an individual basis to support them with clinical conundrums or issues that required "fresh eyes" perspective.
I have recently commenced in regional Victoria working within the Early intervention & capacity building team as a Nurse practitioner and have multiple openings to offer supervision.

My approach to supervision

I believe that clinical supervision and support is a truly valuable tool to assist nurses in the development and maintenance of their careers and this is why I am happy to offer my services as a clinical supervisor/mentor. I prefer to capacity build those I mentor by guiding them to explore the different avenues or approaches to get best clinical outcomes as well as maintain the job satisfaction they desire
